2024 Little Rocktoberfest Brew-Off Rules

  • This competition is BJCP sanctioned and open to any amateur homebrewer age 21 or older.
  • To enter this competition, the entering brewer must attend the Little Rocktoberfest 2024 event on the evening of September 28th at Rusty Tractor Vineyards in Little Rock, and must serve at least one beer at the Homebrew Exhibition. Any brewer winning an award that is not in attendance will be disqualified, and no refund will be given.
  • All mailed and drop-off entries must be received at the shipping location by the entry deadline, Saturday, September 14, 2024 – please allow for shipping time.
  • Winners will be posted after judging is complete.
  • Please submit 2 bottles per entry.
  • All bottles must be capped with unmarked crown caps, ideally silver or gold, with no logos, prints, or bright color.
  • Entries shall be free of identifying marks, labels, including inked/painted labels or glued/taped paper labels. Raised NO DEPOSIT, brand names, or manufacturing codes are acceptable.
  • All entries must be properly labeled using the bottle labels produced by the electronic entry system. Please place the bottle label inside of a Ziploc-style sealed bag and use a rubber band to attach a label to each bottle.
  • All entries must be handcrafted products, containing ingredients available to the general public, and made using private equipment by hobbyist brewers (i.e., no use of commercial facilities or Brew on Premises operations, supplies, etc.).
  • Each competitor is limited to one entry per BJCP sub-style.
  • The competition organizers are not responsible for mis-categorized entries, mailed entries that are not received by the entry deadline, or entries that arrived damaged.
  • Qualified judging of all entries is the primary goal of our event. Judges will evaluate and score each entry. Judging will be based on the 2015 BJCP Style Guideline revisions.
  • Judges are encouraged to enter the competition, but will not be allowed to judge any category in which they have entries.
  • The competition committee reserves the right to combine categories based on number of entries. All possible effort will be made to combine similar styles. All brews in combined categories will be judged according to the style they were originally entered in.
  • All and any cannabis-infused, or ingredient derivative of, beers are strictly prohibited by the competition committee. Any entrant found in violation of this rule will be banned from the competition.
  • The Best of Show judging will be determined by a Best of Show panel based on a second judging of the top winners.
  • Bottles will not be returned to entrants.
